I’ve had the intention of writing a blog since I was 16 years old after I had stumbled upon my very first travel blog, Alex in Wanderland. This completely opened my eyes to the fact that a) you don’t have to be filthy rich to travel full time (I know, shocking) and b) that people have blogs and it’s not weird.
Ever since that moment, I’ve had the dream of traveling full-time and possibly, writing a blog as I move about the world. But if you don’t know me, I am currently a freshman in college and still have 3 ½ years until I graduate aka 3 ½ years until I (hopefully) achieve this goal. So upon learning this information, you might be asking yourself, “Why the heck are you starting a blog now?”
Ask and you shall receive.
I don’t want to say that I’m that girl; the one who woke up one morning and said, “I’m going to start a blog!” But honestly, that would be a lie.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]
[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Two weeks ago I was sitting in one of my journalism classes where I heard my professor give the best lecture I’ve ever heard (I’m not joking, I started tearing up). Upon hearing this, I felt so compelled to share my opinions about his lecture that I typed out a very lengthy post on my finsta (long live the finsta!!) though ended up deleting it since it truly wasn’t the right environment for what I felt I needed to say. I realized then that I had so many things to share but I did not have the correct outlet to do so.
So I guess I then just said, “Hey Maggie! You’ve always wanted to start a blog but instead of waiting four more years, why not start it now?”
Long story short, that’s how we ended up here, my friends![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Though my original intent for a blog was to be fully centered on travel, I do not have the capability, at the time, to travel long term. So instead, I’m going to use this environment to talk about things that are important to me. That includes travel, personal stories, advice, things I love, basically whatever I want. In the future, I want to tailor it more towards my travels but in the meantime, I’m going to write about whatever I feel like! Whoo!
I was hesitant at first to pursue this blog because in part of creating something like this, you are making the decision to share your life with anyone who stumbles across it. I suppose that scared me a little bit?
But as a journalism major and someone who is passionate about a lot of things, I think this is a good thing for me. So hopefully you tag along while I attempt to figure this blog thing out 🙂
